Will

Some of the advantages of having a valid Will, rather than dying without one, are:

  • You make sure that your possessions go to those you wish to receive them
  • You can include your funeral wishes
  • You choose your executors/trustees i.e. individuals you trust to deal with your estate and act in any continuing trusts
  • You can appoint guardians for your minor children
  • You can make specific gifts
  • You prevent the application of the intestacy rules – these can lead to some unwelcome results
